I was driving into Yosemite for the first time, not knowing what to expect, BOOM! All of a sudden, emerged from the tall trees stood this massive, almost vertical rock. It was quite a feeling. I stood in awe.

Standing 3,595 feet tall, El Capitan is the largest granite monolith in the world.
