My first macrophoto! Guess what I had used? My 35-80mm lens with a paper tube as my extension tube. I detached the lens from my camera body and then used a paper tube between the lens and the camera. Just make sure the attachment is light-tight. There was no control over the depth of field because the lens didn't communicate with the body. Read more about this method in my article. A blue background was used.
